Located at a distance of about 37 kms from Agra, Fatehpur Sikri is made of red sandstone and is a UNESCO World Heritage site was built by the Mughal Emperor Akbar. This 4 century old city was the imperial town of the Mughal dynasty between 1571 and 1584. The city is famous for monuments like the Naubat Khana, Diwan-i-Am, Diwan-i-Khas, Jodha Bai’s Palace, Panch Mahal, Bulland Darwaza, and the Jama Masjid. The city was the favourite of the Mughal Emperor Akbar because of the beautiful tomb of Sheikh Salim Chisti. The city houses Royal and Spiritual enclosures.
